Soft Trim Durability

At RCO Technologies we offer a variety of trim testing with the capacity and personnel to meet your timing needs. The laboratory is equipped with many Motoman and Kuka brand robots to meet your ingress / egress needs. RCO Technologies also supports other types of vehicle ingress / egress such as: hydraulic shuttle table, pneumatic shuttle table, and Asian styles A and B. At RCO we have pressure mapping equipment to perform comfort evaluations and assist with the creation of your unique robotic ingress / egress path. We also feature several, industry standard, Burke E. Porter jounce and squirm machines to meet your seat durability needs. H point determination and verification is also a service that RCO is able to perform.

H-Point

RCO Technologies has the capability to perform H point verification testing. When provided with your design H-point information RCO can setup and measure the actual H-point of your seating properties for comparison and verification.

Jounce

RCO Technologies has a large quantity of the industry standard Burke E. Porter jounce and squirm machines. The jounce and squirm testing simulates the seating occupant oscillating in the seat. The test is performed to determine the durability of the seat's foam, trim, and structure over the life of the vehicle. The seat back and cushion can be subjected to this type of durability testing.

Robot

At RCO Technologies, we offer both Motoman and Kuka brand robots to meet your robotic ingress / egress needs. The use of robots to simulate occupants entering and exiting the vehicle is a very representative way to validate a seating design. At RCO we can use a robot ingress / egress path that you have already created or create a new path for you. Since every vehicle has a unique interior and exterior geometry a unique ingress / egress path needs to be created for every seating position of that vehicle. This robotic path is determined by collecting pressure mapping data and video of varying percentile occupants entering and exiting an actual vehicle. After collecting the data, the paths that should have the most adverse effects on the back and cushion are selected to create the robotic path. The vehicle data collection can be taken at the RCO facility or the equipment can be brought to any offsite location for your convenience.

Two Axis Shaker Table

RCO Technologies has a two axis shaker table to accommodate your vibration durability needs. Our table has a stroke of two inches peak-to-peak, a frequency range of 5 to 2,000 Hz, and a capacity of 6,500 lbs. The table has the flexibility to perform testing from component level vibration testing to complete seat Asian style jounce durability.
