Mechanical and Electric Durability
At RCO Technologies we offer a variety of both mechanical and electrical
durability testing with the capacity and personnel to meet your timing needs.
The laboratory is equipped with a large quantity of both pneumatic and electrical
controllers to meet your durability testing needs. The RCO Technologies Durability
Team has the experience and fabrication skills to perform standard OEM provided
specifications or assist you in creating custom specifications to meet your needs.
All of our durability testing can be performed at room temperature or at various
temperature extremes.
Pneumatic Controllers
RCO Technologies has a vast number of multiple channel pneumatic controllers. Our
controllers are capable of operating up to eight pneumatic cylinders and respond to
two load feedback conditions. The flexibility of our controllers gives us the
capability to perform complex durability scenarios. The controllers are portable
and can be used in conjunction with our environmental chambers to test product
durability at temperature extremes. The controllers are universal and are used on
durability testing conditions, such as:
- Head Restraints
- Compartment Lids
- Manual Seat Tracks
- Manual Seat Recliners
- Cup Holders
- Fold and Tumble Seats

Fatigue
At RCO Technologies we offer pneumatic and hydraulically actuated fatigue testing. Both of our fatigue types are controlled by load feedback controllers to ensure that your required loads are met on every cycle. Our pneumatic controllers have the ability to combine load feedback with multiple channels of actuation; this capability allows us to perform complex cyclic durability with the addition of fatigue loading. The hydraulic fatigue stations allow for higher fatigue rates as well as the ability to program varying blocks of loading conditions with varying frequencies.
Powertrack
RCO Technologies has a great capacity for testing electric motor actuated components. Our controllers can power multiple motors simultaneously for complex cycling scenarios. The testing equipment is controlled by the amperage feedback of the sample or by proximity switches that can limit the travel of the sample. All of our controllers are portable and can be used in conjunction with our environmental chambers to allow for durability cycling at temperature extremes.
Data Acquisition
At RCO Technologies we have the capability of collecting multiple channels of varying
types of data simultaneously. There are several data stations that are mobile and are
used throughout the lab on a daily basis. RCO also has a portable system that can be
used for data collection at remote locations, for your convenience. At RCO Technologies
we have the capability to collect various combinations of the following data types:
- Displacement
- Time
- Force
- Temperature
- Torque
- Current
- Voltage
- Strain
Chamber
RCO Technologies has several environmental chambers with the capability of obtaining temperature extremes of -40 degrees Celsius to 115 degrees Celsius and humidity capabilities of 95% RH. Our chambers range in size from a reach in for smaller components to walk in for larger items, such as vehicle bodies. The testing performed in the chambers range from monitoring stationary samples to performing cyclic mechanical durability at temperature extremes.
